The Mississippi Kidney Foundation is seeking enthusiastic volunteers for the Michael Rubenstein Memorial Kidney Walk. This annual event brings together individuals, families, and communities to raise awareness and funds for kidney disease research, education, and patient support. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event and creating a positive experience for all participants.
Responsibilities:
- Registration Assistance: Help with participant check-in, distribute registration packets, and provide general event information to attendees.
- Route Support: Assist in setting up signage along the walk route, guide participants along the designated path, and ensure their safety.
- Water Stations: Set up and manage water stations along the route, ensuring participants have access to hydration throughout the event.
- Cheering Squad: Energize and motivate participants by cheering them on as they complete the walk and offering words of encouragement.
- Information Booth: Staff an information booth, providing attendees with details about the Mississippi Kidney Foundation’s mission, programs, and resources.
- Photography and Videography: Capture memorable moments during the walk, documenting participants’ experiences for future promotional materials.
- Cleanup: Assist with post-event cleanup activities, including collecting trash, dismantling signs, and returning equipment.
Requirements:
- Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of those affected by kidney disease.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Physical stamina to be on your feet for an extended period and perform light lifting if necessary.
