Grab your walking shoes, put your best foot forward, and help us stomp out kidney disease! Just head to the scenic Fondren/Woodland Hills neighborhood in Jackson on Saturday, October 1st, at 9:00 a.m., to join the Michael Rubenstein Memorial Kidney Walk, sponsored by the Mississippi Kidney Foundation and presented by Fresenius Kidney Care. . Registration is from 8am – 8:45. The walk starts promptly at 9am, at the MS Kidney office, located at 3000 Old Canton Road. It will wind through the Fondren/Woodland Hills neighborhood and conclude at Fondren Presbyterian Church, located at 3220 Old Canton Road. When walkers return to Fondren Church, there will be unlimited Schwan’s ice cream. Bottled water is compliments of McDade’s Fondren. To add a little extra excitement, each walker or team raising $100 or more, will receive the opportunity to participate in the “Helicopter Golf Ball Drop” with a grand prize of $1,000 cash. Around 10:00 a.m., a Mercury Aviation helicopter will appear in the sky; it will then hover in the air and release the golf balls. The owner of the ball that lands in the hole or closest to the hole will receive $1,000.
Adult walkers are encouraged to raise or donate $50; they will receive a t-shirt, tote bag and 2017 Kidney Connection Calendar.
